Huey leaves from Padang which is on the west coast of Sumatra. Padang has an international airport and there are many flights a day from Jakarta and two flights a day from Kuala Lumpur with Air Asia. Check out www.airasia.com Tiger Airways have ceased operations from Singapore. Lion Air, Mandala, Batavia Sri Wijaya and Garuda all service the Jakarta to Padang route. Please email us as we can usually book your domestic flights cheaper from inside Indo. There are also flights from Batam and Medan.

Transfers to and from the boat are included in the price but there is a 30US dollar Mentawai Tax payable in Padang to our agents there. This money is paid by all guests traveling to the islands and goes toward the local community. This can be paid in US or Aussie dollars and of course Indonesian Rupiah.

After you clear immigration in Padang you will be swamped by porters as you wait for your bags to come through. These guys do a good job carrying your boards to our vehicles but will try and relieve you of your hard earned cash. 20,000 rupiah or 5 dollars is plenty, more if you're feeling generous.
