HUEY is an 82 ft ex customs patrol vessel customized for surf charters. Built and launched by the Japanese Government in 1978 HUEY is one of the faster boats serving the Mentawai Islands. Finishing in March 2006 Huey underwent a four month refit which involved rebuilding the main engines, plus new propellers and shafts to ensure reliability and safety for our guests. She is powered by two V12 650HP Twin Turbo Detroit diesels so getting there in all weather conditions is never a problem.

Ducted air conditioning throughout the vessel ensures your preferred room temperature and the share accommodation sleeps up to 10 passengers in comfort. There's plenty of accessible board storage and the spacious, covered front deck area is a favourite among guests for catching the cool breeze or lazing in the afternoon shade. The surf conditions in the Mentawais can change quickly. Steve and crew are some of the most experienced in the region and with extensive knowledge of what breaks will be best in all conditions you are guaranteed to be at the best possible breaks enjoying maximum wave time...getting the barrels of your life! Accessing the surf is never a problem on board Huey as it also has 2 x 4M tenders, both with 25 HP outboard engines.
